Hi, I'm Shade! I'm a second year student at the University of Vermont, hard at work on my BS in Computer Science. If you're wondering, my name is pronounced like the common noun.

I work as a software developer for VERSO's Open Research Community Accelerator (ORCA).

This is a Newton Fractal with five roots, one of which is controlled by the cursor (or the scroll for mobile). Each pixel is assigned a color based on the number of iterations its corresponding coordinate point took to converge to a root. It's inspired by this poster I have from 1993:
